OUR JOURNEY

AMY

• Amy was born in Wyandotte, MI on January 27, 1978.  She was born into a Christian family and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in elementary school and was baptized several years later.

• After graduating from Inter-City Baptist High school, she attended Bob Jones University where she majored in Pre-medicine.  With God’s direction, Amy decided to pursue a career as a physician assistant.   God allowed her to be accepted to the Physician Assistant program in Wayne State University in Detroit, MI where she graduated with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies.

• Amy worked in an emergency department and later in cardiology while continuing to stay active in the local church.  She desired to pursue more training in ministry, so she accepted a ministry internship at Harvest Baptist church in Guam.  It was in Guam that Amy met her husband Bryan, and they were married.   They currently have 4 children, Eliane, Hannah, Selah and Carson.

• Amy and Bryan served together at Harvest ministries for 13 years, first in children’s ministry then later in hospitality ministry and ministry to young families.   As they served the various cultures located in Guam, her heart was drawn to the Japanese people through partnering in an ESL class.   In the spring of 2022, she and her husband responded to God’s call on their life to serve God in Japan.

BRYAN

• Pastor Bryan Lenartz serves as an Assistant Pastor at Harvest Baptist Church.  His primary roles are in the areas of Evangelism, Hospitality, and Church Assimilation.  Bryan received his Bachelor of Arts in Bible from Maranatha Baptist Bible College as well as his Master of Arts in Bible from Maranatha Baptist Seminary.  Bryan moved to the Island in 2009 where soon after he met his now wife  Amy. Bryan and Amy have four children, Eliane (10), Hannah (8), Selah (6), and Carson (5).  Their son Carson was adopted out of the foster ministry Harvest House where Bryan now serves as a board member.  

• Bryan has served for 13 years at Harvest Baptist Church. Many of those years in the Assistant Pastor role. While at Harvest Bryan served in Christian Education teaching Bible to 8th graders as well as Hermeneutics and Homiletics for Harvest Baptist Bible College.  

• He as overseen Adult Education, Evangelism, Discipleship, Children’s Ministry and Church Events. His heartbeat is in hospitality ministry where he oversees the welcoming and church assimilation for new guests.
